1991
The Pipe Band Competition took center stage as the Grade II World Champions; St. Joseph’s Pipe Band of Dublin, Ireland, competed and took home the Celtic Classic Piping Championship. The Highland Dance competition became an officially recognized event, after gaining approval from the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance. Irish writer John McGahem gave a public reading of his most recent novel, “Amongst Women”.
