The festival opened under sunny skies and drew a weekend attendance of 110,000. Celtic Classic teamed up with Moravian College Music Institution to present two summer concerts at Foy Hall, featuring local favorite Daybreak and Deanta from Northern Ireland. Hometown favorite, the Lehigh Valley Pipe Band made their competition debut. “Celty Bear” was created as a part of a new educational effort which would give children more understanding of what they see at the festival. The bear appeared in one of two coloring books that explained the festival.
