SUMMARY:May Day Country Dance & Games
DESCRIPTION:A traditional Spring Festival! Join Celtic band\, The Chivalrous Crickets\, in recreating British Isles May Day and Beltane customs old and new. \nDoors open at 6:15 for lobby activities: pressed flower crafts\, head wreath weaving and more. \n6:45pm join the Crickets in learning some ancient May Carols. Enjoy Celtic music performance & shared seasonal folklore \n7:20pm: selection of a May King & Queen! Games and nonsense\, after which: \na traditional ritual called “Beating the Grounds” we’ll process with a band of Lehigh Valley bagpipers to call in the spring and bless the new year! (indoor if raining) \n7:45 – end: JOIN US in dancing in the spring. We’ll teach 2 ceilidh dances followed by our annual MAY POLE dance.
